Supervision

Supervision is the process in which a psychotherapist cooperates with a professionally more experienced colleague in order to look for sources of difficulties and how to overcome them.
Supervision is a constant, necessary element of a profession of psychotherapist and is obligatory during the whole practice period.
Supervisor's tasks include:

  • Creation of educational relation based on supervision alliance
  • Consultation, i.e. a common reliable reflection on the therapeutic process
  • Advice and teaching concrete intervention strategies and skills
  • Control over professional and ethical issues
  • Effectiveness evaluation

  • Those tasks are realized to various extends depending on professional experience and therapist's needs.

    There are two types of supervision for psychotherapists in training.
    It is realized in two obligatory forms:

  • Group - work with a supervisor within the training at the Institute in a 4-6 people group, 245 hours
  • Individual supervision with the supervisor from the list of training supervisors - minimum 50 hours

  • Training supervision is a necessary condition to obtain the Certificate of Psychotherapist.

    For independent psychotherapists supervision is realized in two forms:

  • Group supervision - work with a supervisor in a 4-6 people group.

  • individual supervision with a supervisor with the Supervisor Certificate of the Institute
  • Recommendation from the supervisor is a necessary condition to prolong the validity of the Certificate of Psychotherapist!!!
